Smart Solutions for a Stronger Magnolia

My name is Wayne Simpson and I'm asking for your vote to continue representing Ward 1 on the Magnolia City Council.

My Vision

I'm a businessman with a heart for community service who simply wants to make a positive impact and bring people together to build a brighter future for Magnolia. I combine a stable, conservative leadership style that is dedicated to development and growth with an openness to change for the benefit of the community. I bring a unique ability to manage diverse perspectives and unite people towards common, productive goals.

Rooted in integrity and trustworthiness, I believe it is important to prioritize collaboration among diverse groups through thorough communication, analysis, and decisive action. My priority is to always strive for positive, forward-moving outcomes.

While Magnolia faces challenges like any community, it also holds immense opportunities. With strong leadership, effective communication, and a spirit of collaboration, we can overcome any obstacle and seize the possibilities ahead together.

Community Involvement

I was honored to be appointed to the Magnolia City Council for Ward 1, Position 1 when the seat was recently vacated and look forward to being elected in November to continue serving our community in this capacity.

In addition to my role on the city council, I am also an active board member of the Magnolia Rotary Club. I've had the honor of serving as Chairman of the annual Pancake Breakfast and the upcoming Peace Pole installation in downtown Magnolia. I'm a firm believer that local service organizations like the Rotary Club are key to harnessing the power of community engagement to drive positive change.

I am a dedicated Christian and an active member at my church where I serve on the A/V team and volunteer wherever I'm needed.

Professional Experience

I have worked at only two companies in my career, both in the technology field. For the past 29 years, I have had the privilege of being with Oracle Corporation, where I have been recognized on a national level for excellence in managing, coordinating and supporting diverse teams across many different functions. As the current Director of Business Development, I have become the "go-to" problem-solver for Oracle's enterprise-level Customer Success Services teams, providing support through tools, strategy, contract negotiations, and mentorship.

I have a proven record of aligning customer needs with organizational goals and believe that makes me the ideal candidate to represent the best interests of the "customers" that have come to mean the most to me - the people and greater community of Magnolia.

Family

I have been visiting Magnolia and the surrounding area for years after meeting my wife, Kim, in 2017. Her family's roots run deep in Magnolia - spanning decades. We enjoyed spending many holidays and Blossom Festival weekends here and, after deciding to marry at Lake Erling in 2020, we made the move here in 2022. Together, we have four grown children - Chris, Nick, Katie, and Adam—and the greatest rescue dogs ever - Rhett and Tex.

Magnolia has scooped us up quickly and we have grown to love the people and the atmosphere of this beautiful place we now call home. As we continue to put down our own roots here, it is my desire to serve the community on the City Council in order to help continue Magnolia's rich traditions and to do my part to help build an even stronger city for the future.
